Summer Citrus from South Africa is only as strong as our service providers and their respective teams. In our line of business, relationships matter, and we believe in choosing the right partners and fostering long-term business relationships.
This program is still a unique model of collaboration, connecting all players throughout the total supply chain which results in 1) executing this program with excellence and 2) sustained success and growth.
Time-and-time again, service providers reference our planning and communication. The reality is that we operate within a challenging environment and things don’t always go according to plan. That is when we rely on partners and together we make quick adjustments and share updated and real-time communication with you and the trade.
Each season brings its own set of challenges and the 2024 season is no exception. We had excessive rainfall here in the Western Cape. Rain has an impact of the production of our fruit and the loading of our vessels. Overall, this resulted in delays in our supply-chain and slightly less volumes that will be shipped to the US.
We still have a few weeks left of production and we are finishing up with later Navels and Mandarin varieties, plus Star Ruby grapefruit. Now we are moving into the Midknight season.
